The short answer
- What did Starlink change about Residential prices?
- starlink.com no longer shows one national Residential price. Its home page says
Enter your address to see plans and pricing,
and the price list behind its order page now carries products named by demand level. In Starlink’s own data we’ve seen Residential 100 Mbps at $44, $49.50 and $55 a month, Residential 200 Mbps at $68, $76.50 and $85, and Residential Max at $104, $117, $130, $143 and $156. Press reports of Starlink’s emails to customers call the pricesdynamic
: set by local capacity and demand, about 20% either side of the standard price, and reviewed about every quarter. - When did the price list change?
- The no-address price list changed between Oct 25, 2026 (04:44 UTC) and Oct 29, 2026 (12:18 UTC), per our saved copy and the Wayback Machine. Press reported the customer emails on Oct 29 and 30. On Nov 2 the no-address list showed one product per plan again ($49.50, $76.50 and $143), while an address in Austin, Texas still got $55, $85 and $130 on Oct 30.
- Whose price now depends on the address?
- New US Residential customers, whose price now depends on the service address. Press reports say existing customers in some areas, first in Missouri and Kansas, were told their price would rise or fall from a later billing cycle. Roam plans and kit prices didn’t change.
- What should you check before ordering?
- Before you order, enter your address on starlink.com: the price on that page is the one that counts. Type it into our credit calculator to see how many bills the $100 covers. If your price changes after you order, the reward doesn’t; it stays $100 and simply covers more or fewer bills.
- What hasn’t moved?
- The referral reward: $100 for a new US customer after two full billing cycles, as account credit by default or cash where offered, under the Oct 7, 2026 terms. Roam prices ($55, $80 and $175 a month) and kit prices ($149 Mini, $349 Standard) are unchanged.

How far $100 goes at each price we’ve seen
Our arithmetic, before taxes and any rental fee, with any leftover credit carried to the next bill (our reading of Starlink’s credit rules). Residential 100 Mbps: at $44 the credit covers two full bills and $12 of a third; at $49.50, two bills and $1 of a third; at $55, one bill and $45 of the next. Residential 200 Mbps: one bill plus $32 at $68, $23.50 at $76.50 and $15 at $85. Residential Max: it pays $100 of one bill, leaving $4 to pay at $104, $17 at $117, $30 at $130, $43 at $143 and $56 at $156.
Every level, bill by bill, is on Starlink prices by address, and the calculator takes the price your address shows.

Starlink doesn’t publish which price an address gets, so your address may show a different price: your order page shows yours.
Why you still see $55, $85 and $130
Those were the national prices until late October, and they still appear at some addresses: Starlink’s order page showed them for a public test address in Austin, Texas on Oct 30, 2026, and press checks found the standard Max price near Seattle. Older guides and AI answers quote them as national prices; since late October they’re one level among several.
Your price can change after you order
Starlink’s Terms of Service promise at least one month’s notice before materially adverse changes, and its help center says you get an email about a new price ahead of the first bill that charges it. Promotional or discounted pricing stays until its period ends. As the press quoted those emails, Starlink plans to look at prices again roughly every three months, and a review can lower a price as well as raise it.
Not the same as the demand surcharge
These monthly levels are separate from the one-time demand surcharge some congested areas pay at sign-up. Starlink’s invoice glossary puts that at up to about $1,500; press checks in late October found lower amounts in several areas. See Starlink’s invoice glossary.
